I painted these lillies as a private commission, and
was very pleased with the combination of colours and
form as a result.

The flowers themselves were virtually pleading to be
painted! - They were exceptionally beautiful, and had
a lovely smell, very intoxicating.

I personally find it a particularly peaceful picture.
